WELCOME

Welcome to the Free Resources Library, a growing collection of practical, ready-to-use resources designed to support communication everywhere. Created by Susan Crawford SLT, this library has been developed to help parents, carers, teachers, SNAs, and other professionals with resources that can be used across everyday routines, activities and environments. The resources are easy to implement, ready to download, print and use straight away.  They are grounded in neurodiversity-affirming, child-centred approaches that place connection, participation,  and meaningful communication at the heart of communication support. Whether you are supporting a child at the early stages or looking for fresh ideas to expand communication opportunities these resources are designed  to make communication more accessible and easier to embed into daily routines. This is not a static resource collection. The library will continue to grow over time, with new resources added. Future additions may include communication guides, visual supports, AAC modelling resources, classroom tools, activity ideas, planning templates, and practical supports for a wide range of communication needs and settings. Simply join once to receive access to the current and future resources as they become available. You will receive an email notification  whenever a new resource is added, ensuring you always have access to the latest AAC supports and materials. The aim of this library is simple: to provide high-quality, evidence-informed resources that help create more opportunities for connection,  participation, self-expression, and communication success. Thank you for being part of this growing community and for helping to create a world where every form of communication is recognised, respected and valued.

Susan Crawford

Hello, I’m Susan, a highly specialised Speech and Language Therapist. Much of my work centres on non-speaking and minimally speaking children, and the adults who support them. My work is rooted in the belief that every child has ability, potential, and something important to communicate. I believe communication support should begin with connection, respect, and a deep understanding of the child’s experience. I am passionate about empowering families, teachers, SNAs, therapists, and school teams with the confidence, knowledge, and practical tools to support AAC in everyday life. Through training, resources, and practical guidance, I help adults understand AAC, model language naturally, and create more opportunities for children to express themselves. I am the founder of AAC Support Circle, a supportive space for families to talk all things AAC. It is a place where parents and carers can ask questions, share experiences, explore ideas for AAC implementation, and feel encouraged on their child’s communication journey. I also run AAC Adventures, social meet-ups for AAC users where children can play, have fun, connect with others, and take part in community-based experiences. These sessions create natural opportunities for communication, friendship, participation, and joy, while honouring each child’s way of communicating. At the heart of my work is a simple belief: connection comes first. When we believe in every child’s abilities and give them access to language that honours who they are and what they want to say, we empower communication in a meaningful and respectful way.
